A former Governor of Jigawa State and a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has said that the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government lacks the ideas to help Nigeria grow.
He made the declaration on Friday at the PDP state secretariat in Katsina in an interview with journalists shortly after addressing party supporters.
He said, “This country is going down; there is so much poverty and the ruling party came up with a contraction. It has no vision, no focus, no history but the desire of its leaders to come and take up power. In the last three years, the only thing they have done is to inaugurate the projects (initiated) by the PDP.”
“I believe it’s no fault of their (APC) own because they have no capacity to even think of an idea. So, I am here because Nigerians are very concerned that the nation has no record of development in the past three years and in fact the nation is being underdeveloped by the APC government.”
The former governor said Nigeria would be better off with the PDP government in power at the centre.
Lamido maintained that he had brighter chances of becoming Nigeria’s President, adding that he had both the experience and the intellectual capacity to steer the ship of the country.
“It is not about me, it is about our desire to rescue Nigeria and anybody is free to come and aspire but then the party (PDP) will give Nigerians the best candidate,” he said.
The Presidential aspirant had earlier, while addressing party supporters, gone down memory lane on Nigeria’s political history, insisting he would make Nigeria work again.
Lamido observed that Nigerians had experienced so much poverty and other challenges in the past three years because of what he described as the clueless leadership of APC.
