Ilorin – The Fulani community in Kwara State has dissociated itself from the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari for the 2019 election. The herders, however, said they were not part of the Miyetti Allah Association, which endorsed Buhari for second term.
They explained that some herdsmen in the state who went to Abuja and be part of the Miyetti Alllah that made the endorsement were not their members.
The herders, at a press conference in Ilorin, declared that they could not support Buhari in the election because they had resolved to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ahmed Abubakar, who spoke on their behalf, said the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who is the leader of the PDP in the state, has been helpful to them while the state government has been caring about their welfare.
He said Saraki and the state government have ensure that in many locations of the Fulani community in the state, there are potable water, electricity and health facilities for the people to enjoy.
Ahmed, who expressed belief that the facilities would be widely spread if the PDP remains in office, urged his people in all the 16 local government areas of the state to vote for the party.
