LAGOS – Pastor Lazarus Muoka, General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries (TLCCM), has stressed that without righteousness, no meaningful progress will be actualised in the country.
He maintained that any nation or individual living in unrighteousness is building on sinking sand.
In a chat on Friday with journalists at the four-day crusade which ends today, Sunday December 6, having started on Thursday, December 3, in Mgbidi, Imo State, with the theme “What God Has Determined Shall Be Done”, he noted that God loves Nigeria and is ready to solve all of the challenges confronting the nation only if the people desist from ritual killings, wickedness and other forms of sinful acts.
“Nigerians should understand that there is nothing they can achieve without righteousness because if anyone is building on unrighteousness is building on a sinking ground.
“The Bible says righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to it. If the nation continues in unrighteousness, she will continue to suffer.
“Let us all return to righteousness for righteousness takes away evil. God Has determined to make the nation progress if we all return genuinely to Him,” he stated.
He lamented that many Christians are careless about their spiritual lives as they care more about money and other ephemeral things.
“Do not let anything take your mind away from God and heaven. We must not be deceived by the cares of the world. I don’t know what you are looking for, those things will pass away. What matters is your soul,” Muoka said.
In his speech, Peter Obi, Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who attended the crusade on Saturday, said it is possible to build a better Nigeria as long as fervent prayers be made for the nation’s leaders.
Thanking Muoka for making himself available to be used by God in making the society better, Obi said with prayers the lives of selfish politicians who do not have interest for the well-being of the masses, can be transformed.
“Let’s remain prayerful especially for the leaders, let us pray that God touches our hearts to use public money for public good. I want to see that we use our facilities to help the unemployed youths and the poor in our society,” the former Anambra State governor said.
