LAGOS – Moshood Salvador, former Lagos State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that he has the capacity to use grassroots to garner massive victory for All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections.
Salvador who is also the coordinator of Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation for Lagos State, told journalists at the launch of Presidential Support Committee (PSC) on Saturday that he would leave no stone unturned to ensure that PDP was disgraced in the state during the elections.
He accused the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar of deceiving Nigerians on his plan to restructure the country, saying Atiku does not have the capacity to carry out any meaningful restructuring of the country.
He noted that Atiku was only deceiving Nigerians because restructuring, according to him was a constitutional matter.
“Plan by the PDP to restructure the country is an illusion, the party lacks the capacity to implement such programme because the country’s political configuration makes it impossible to restructure the country, since all sections must be involved.
“The PDP knows that restructuring of the country is the agenda of Southern Nigeria. The party knows that the only way restructuring can gain dominance is to ask the old men in the south to talk about it.
“What have these old men been doing this while? Some of them joined politics when they were 27 years old and are now in their 90s. Why has it been impossible for them to restructure over the years and is it now they are over ninety, they can achieve it?” he asked.
Salvador wondered why Olusegun Obasanjo was there for eight years and did not restructure because he knows the truth that it was not feasible.
“To prove to the PDP that I have the grassroots power, the political power in Lagos, this time APC will poll more than one million votes while the PDP will score less than six hundred thousand votes,” he said.
