Lagos – A United Kingdom-based Nigerian author, Mr. Dele Ogun, in his research work that spanned a period of 25 years on the country’s history has described Nigerians as fatherless people.
Mr. Ogun, who stated this during an intellectual engagement with members of the Elitist FS (Friends) Club of Lagos and dissection of his book, expressed regrets that Nigeria had never been lucky to have good leaders.
According to him, Nigeria has always been ruled by corrupt, selfish military and political leaders who assumed leadership of the country through the British colonial masters.
He said the book titled: ‘A Fatherless People-The Secret of How Nigeria missed the Promised Land’, highlighted the contemporary history, challenges and potentials of the country called Nigeria.
“A Fatherless People” is about the secret story of how its exponential development since the departure of the British colonial masters in 1960, in spite of its abundant human and natural resources.
